I have a user who reports that often he sees this message when attempting to print:

"You must install a printer before you print"

At other times the printer works fine, or start working part way through the day, then continues to work until the computer is shut down. This is not related to printer drivers, as he has tried with both an existing HP and brand new Cannon printer.

Strangely, there is a preview, so there must be a printer driver present. Having connected and seen the fault, it appears to be related to having multiple versions of Access present.

He has Access 2000 installed (which reports an error if you try to create a new database: "Could not use 'Admin'; file already in use." - strange) and our product uses Access 2003 Runtime with SageKey's startaccess_2003 utility.

I have managed to remove the "install a printer" message by loading the .MDE file directly, rather than using startaccess_2003, and I suspect the office 2000 installation is somehow to blame, but has anybody any experience of the same?

Thanks

Matthew
