Hello,

I have a customer who apparently had downloaded our .msi to a drive that no longer exists. Now, trying to upgrade with our latest .msi, they can't uninstall the old one ("Error 1327. Invalid Drive E:\")

Tried various things to get out of this, including installing the latest verson installer, re-connected the E:\ drive and uninstalled the product, etc. But still can't get past this reference in order to get the new version of our product installed.

Our product uses SageKey Installer Wizard 2003. We have added Upgrade GUIDs, so it is attempting to uninstall the previous version before installing the new version.

Customer has Windows XP SP3.

Any ideas where to go from here?

thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

That sounds like quite the scenario. The only method that comes to mind for removing the previous install information is to use the windows installer clean up utility from Microsoft. You can get it here :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
In this case for sure you will want to remove the old install then do a fresh full install.
This is one of the reasons it is best to install to the maindrive.
