I am running the sage key installer for access 2003. I just created a new install program and it works on my windows XP machine but when running it on windwos 7, 64 bit, I get:

Error 1316. A network error occured while attempting to read from file: C:\users\Robert ~1.Eps\appdata\local\temp\ckz.tmp27cdb\files\setup DibApp2K3 V90.msi

The former install was previously run on this comupter which does have the the above setup DibApp2K3 V90 but this install should say "Setup DibApp2K V86 2K3"

What's happening?

Thanks, Bob Epstein, Bellevue WA

Hi Bob,

It sounds like the old install on the machine and the new one share a Product ID but have too many differences (removed files, or changed package names) to run as an update.
If it is the same Product ID then it expects the installer name to be the same and is looking for that file.

You can edit the install name after it is created and still have it run as an update, but the original name must be the same.
Or if you want to have both loaded on the machine, you can Save As.. the new installer project before rebuilding it to give it a new Product ID.
