Yellow Pages Indexing
Automated indexing of Yellow Pages directories.
SageKey was hired in 2006 by the Local search Association (formerly Yellow Pages Association) to develop a system that could rapidly index Yellow Pages directories. The requirements were steep as accuracy and performance were extremely important in determining the products eventual feasibility.
With each publisher, and in many cases each directory within a publisher, having different colors, layouts and quirks, the system had to be very powerful, yet flexible enough to handle the nuances of font, color and layout changing from directory to directory. There was little tolerance for error and the system had to handle up to four thousand Yellow Pages directories per year.
Sagekey delivered a set of applications that automates over 95% of the process, provides real time monitoring and reporting and completely integrates with several of LSA’s existing applications. The system was a major success and has been expanded several times since the initial release in order to incorporate new types of directories.
The applications are still in use today and provide data to several of the Local Search Associations key business areas.
- SQL Server
- FTP Server
- Real Time Reporting
- Code Optimization
